The Zoetis Equine team at the 2025 Denver AAEP Convention
December is a great time to reflect on the past year and look toward the future. For the Zoetis Equine team, 2025 has been packed with industry events, campaign launches, novel research and so much more. From our Buy Less Dewormer campaign educating horse owners on updated deworming guidelines to our Keep Calm series plus interactions with veterinarians and fans at events like the Defender Kentucky Three-Day Event, Wrangler National Finals Rodeo and the 71st Annual AAEP Convention in Denver, it’s been a busy and rewarding year. We’ve also made major strides with our research partners to continue to take a deeper dive into the practical veterinary science-based use cases for regenerative medicine devices like Pro-Stride® APS and continued our work with nonprofit partners such as ASPCA Right Horse and Horses for Mental Health and the Equine Network Foundation.
While the work can be nonstop, there’s no better feeling than knowing you’ve made a positive impact on horses and their caretakers, especially when you do it alongside a team who truly cares. For most of us at Zoetis Equine, horses aren’t just part of our job—they’re part of our lives. From lifelong horse owners and competitive riders to veterinarians who found their calling, our team is united by a shared passion to do what’s best for horses and the equine community.

As Maggie Young, our Business and Sales Operations Lead, put it: “It is a privilege and honor to work alongside other people who are just as passionate about the horse, the equine industry and those involved. It’s easy to go to work every day when you get to support the very industry that my family and I have been a part of my whole life and that has shaped me as a person! Plus, the Zoetis Equine team always has the most FUN!”
Two other colleagues echoed her sentiment. Dr. Amy Poulin Braim, an Equine Surgeon who started on our Technical Services Veterinary team and is now part of our Marketing team, shared, “Even though we are spread out across the country with different customers, cultures, climates and concerns, we are all in it for the same thing: the love of the horse and the people who care for them.” Our Head of Marketing for Equine at Zoetis, Jen Blanchard, had this to add, “How amazing to be part of a team that practices what we preach and wakes up every single day truly motivated to be always by the side of horses and those who care for them! It is rare and special to be part of a company so committed to truly living a higher purpose and doing good for both the people and horses we serve. I pinch myself every day, what a dream job!”

“I wanted to be a veterinarian as soon as I knew what a veterinarian was. But I didn’t see a woman equine veterinarian until I was in vet school—things have changed a lot—and as soon as I did, I knew it was for me!”
– Abby Sage, VMD, MS, DACVIM, Equine Technical Services
“Growing up on a cattle farm, I told everyone I knew that I wanted to become a veterinarian and come back to southwest Missouri to work on beef and dairy cattle. Late in undergrad, I took a part-time job at Equine Medical Services and discovered that everything I liked about large animal practice was part of equine practice. I also really enjoyed the individualized nature of working on horses that makes every day different.”

“I wrote about it in my kindergarten class when they asked us what we wanted to be when we grew up, but I didn’t get to it right away. I went back to vet school a little later in life, after another career, and it was the best decision I have ever made.”

After hearing from the Zoetis team and reflecting on this year, one word keeps coming to mind: partnership. Whether it’s the partnership between you and your horse; among veterinarians, trainers and farriers; between members of our marketing team and field team; between Zoetis and other organizations in the equine space, it takes teamwork to keep horses healthy, make innovative medical breakthroughs and move the needle on programs that stand to make a real, positive difference in people’s and horses’ lives.
When asked what made them proud this year, several team members spoke about the power of those partnerships, including our work with Horses for Mental Health to raise awareness and dollars for equine-assisted mental health programs, partnering with Equine Network Foundation to launch the Long Live the Horse Care Grant, to our vaccine donations and programs for Eagle Mount Riding Program in Montana, with the ASPCA Right Horse, Chincoteague Ponies and the National Finals Rodeo.
“Partnering with Horses for Mental Health as the title sponsor of the Seen Through Horses campaign to raise awareness about the positive role horses can play in supporting human mental health was incredible. In our fourth year, we shattered prior benchmarks and raised $1.4 million to support equine-assisted service providers and the horses that make these life-changing programs possible. Hearing personal stories, including from colleagues, of lives changed by equine-assisted therapy fills my cup. I’m proud to be part of an organization that supports this cause and lives our purpose!”
– Jen Blanchard, Head of Marketing for Equine, Zoetis
“We donated vaccines to Eagle Mount Riding Program horses through All West Veterinary Hospital. The vets got a chance to be comfortable with the vaccines, and it was a great cause. As someone who knows those horses personally and individually, it made me feel good to know we were keeping those horses healthy for the special-needs kids who love them.”

Finally, our behind-the-scenes teamwork to help spread the word about new clinical research findings that might impact treatment decisions also stood out:
“I am most proud of being able to work with the equine technical services & sales team to showcase, broadcast and expand the reach of our clinical research on regenerative medicine devices across the US and the globe. No one else in our industry is doing the work and investing in the science that we are and I am super-proud of that!” – Amy Poulin Braim, VMD, DACVS-LA, Senior Marketing Manager, Equine Regenerative Medicine and Diagnostics

As we look toward 2026, there’s so much to be grateful for and even more to look forward to. Our team’s talent, dedication and genuine love for horses continue to drive everything we do. Here’s what a few teammates are most excited about in the year ahead:
“I’d really love to see where we can all level up our game by just 1% to make our reach, our message and our goals further align with being always by the side of veterinarians, horse owners, trainers and caretakers. While it can feel daunting to outdo ourselves year after year, just a little extra effort can turn great into extraordinary!”

“Making an impact for veterinarians through our work with Horses for Mental Health, PATH Intl. and the AAEP Healthy Practice Committee.”
– Jaci Boggs, DVM, MS, DACVIM, Equine Technical Services Veterinarian
“I’m looking forward to doing more volunteer work to support equine organizations this coming year! Earlier in 2025, the marketing team joined forces with our agency to volunteer at the equine rescue, Abiding Sunday, near River Falls, WI. We learned about their mission and vision of giving retired broodmares a sanctuary, while also supporting the emotional wellbeing of human mothers through equine-assisted services. We worked alongside other “A Home for Every Horse” industry partners, including Purina, Equine Network Foundation and Anheuser-Busch to build fences, weed-whack overgrown areas on the farm, and organize their feed room. It was a special treat to get a visit from the one and only Budweiser Clydesdales at the end of the day as a heartfelt appreciation for the rescue’s director, team and all the volunteers. We were proud to roll up our sleeves and be “always by your side,” living our purpose and making a dramatic transformation on the farm in just a day’s work. It was a great reminder that our efforts and impact go beyond our computer screens, and to keep giving back to the equine community all year round at Zoetis.”

As we wrap up 2025, we’re proud of what we’ve accomplished together and the progress we’ve made across the equine industry. Thank you to our dedicated team, our trusted partners and everyone who turns to Zoetis to support the health and well-being of horses. Your commitment and collaboration make all the difference. We’re excited for all that’s ahead in the coming year.
